Petrinian Cockerel Girl Scout Cadets join the Regional Camp
Two proud Petrinian cadets participated in the Regional Senior and Cadet Encampment held on April 27 to May 1 of this year at Camp Marina Yulo-Vargas Regional Program Training Center, Cebu City.
After weeks from a successful investiture ceremony, the two cadet scouts who represented the school were Cadet Girl Scout Trixie Kay V. Balansag and Cadet Girl Scout Leslie D. Baruado together with their mentor and Girl Scout Troop leader, Ms. Bessie D. Maquirang. This was the first participation of the Petrinian Cockerel Girl Scout cadets in the Regional Camp since the year 2017, which was made possible by the help of the supportive Petrinian parents, the school administration, and the generous donors.
The said event was attended by the first GSP National Vice President, Dr. Fe Violeta B. Taring, Ms. Rosario B. Rosales; the Vice-President for Field, Mrs. Razzil P. Nocete; the Council Executive of the Negros Oriental and Siquijor Council; the Regional Executive Director, Mrs. Marian Villegas; and other distinguished guests.

Several social and educational activities were prepared for the regional campers during the five-day event, which included the comprehensive trainings on basic first aid and fire safety drills for emergency preparedness and orienteering where the campers learned to read maps and trail messages as well as to operate HAM radios and compasses. The campers also loved the obstacle course that gave them the experience of rappelling and rock climbing which was made more fun and memorable by the actual participation of their Adult Troop Leaders.
The camp came to an end with an educational city tour on the different museums of Cebu and the Council Extravaganza, which showcased the different talents of the Girl Scout Cadets from the different places in Visayas region.
