ORIENTATION ON AUGUSTINIAN PEDAGOGY

AUGUST 27, 2022 – Rev. Fr. Ramon Bitancor III, OAR accompanied the Petrinian Faculty and Staff in their understanding of the Augustinian Pedagogy. Held in the school library, the orientation was a fair effort to inculcate St. Augustine’s pedagogical lines in the educational system of CSP-R. Encompassing the said orientation were short discussions on the historical glance of the Order, the OAR Charisms, and areas of Recollect apostolate both international and local.

Prior to the orientation, Fr. Ramon invited the audience to join him in prayer and asked the intercession of St. Monica, mother of Saint Augustine and the Patroness of all Mothers, whose feast is celebrated during the day. Fr. Ramon also presented the importance of St. Augustine’s teaching on the student- teacher relationship. Both are seen as participants and partners in the learning process which is based on charity.

Capping his orientation, Fr. Ramon spoke of the school’s greater purpose – not only to train brilliant students but to form compassionate and faithful Christians who hold the future of the Catholic Church.
