Petrinians Garner Crowns for Puhag King and Queen 2022

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2022—The town fiesta of Valencia, Negros Oriental was a blast for the CSP–R community after Kianabelle Carlisle Dagoy and Kent John Albina, both Grade 12 students, bagged the prestigious awards during the Puhag Festival 2022. The two were crowned as Puhag King and Queen, beating the contestants from other high schools around town.

As a thanksgiving to the bees, which are the highlight of the festivity, the female contestants flaunted their costumes that resemble a queen bee, and the males wore their beekeeper attire. The pageant had production and presentation segments where all participants tried their best to impress the judges and the audience. Both representatives from CSP–R not only shined in their bright yellow costumes but also exhibited excellent performance and wit on stage, which led to their victory.

The event began with a civic parade, which was joined by government agencies and participating schools with their marching bands including Balugo National High School, Pulang Bato High School, San Pedro Academy Recoletos, Bong-ao National High, and Colegio de San Pedro–Recoletos. The opening of the Puhag festival was a success, despite the disturbance of a rainfall, as the marching bands remained unbothered and performed their showdown of exhibitions filled energy.
