Nature Meets Learning

Members of the Science Club, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts from Colegio de San Pedro-Recoletos recently embarked on an enriching trip to Liptong Woodland, a mini-forest renowned for its collection of endangered and rare species of native trees and plants. Located in Barangay Liptong, Bacong, Negros Oriental, this unique ecological site offered the students a firsthand experience of nature’s wonders.

The group was warmly welcomed and guided by Rene “Tatay Eti” Vendiola, the owner and steward of Liptong Woodland. Known for his dedication to preserving native flora, Tatay Eti shared his wealth of knowledge about the importance of conservation and the role of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance. Through an informative tour, the students learned about various plant species and the efforts involved in protecting them from extinction.
